Biography

Iris was formed in Bucharest in 1977. Cristi Minculescu became the singer in the early eighties, and the band released its first album, Iris I, in 1984.

History

The eighties and early nineties albums, from Iris I to Iris 1993, came out on Electrecord, followed by Lună plină in 1996. Mirage came out in 1998, Iris 2000 in 1999 and Mătase albă in 2002. Iris Maxima followed in 2005, the two volumes of Cei ce vor fi in 2007 and 12 porți in 2010.

The albums from before 1998 are not included here because they are not available as official uploads.

Legacy & Influence

Iris is one of the bands that kept Romanian hard rock alive after 1989, and its anniversary concerts fill the biggest venues in the country.
