Why It Works
Blackout and Love at First Sting are loud, fast records for the gym or the car. The ballads, Still Loving You, Wind of Change and Send Me an Angel, are for the evening. The seventies albums are heavier and more experimental.

Biography
Guitarist Rudolf Schenker founded the band in Hanover in 1965. Singer Klaus Meine joined in 1969, and Rudolf's brother Michael Schenker played on the first album before joining UFO. Uli Jon Roth and later Matthias Jabs took over lead guitar.
Scorpions have sold more than 100 million records and announced a farewell tour in 2010 that turned into fifteen more years on the road.
History
Lonesome Crow came out in 1972. The albums with Uli Jon Roth, from Fly to the Rainbow (1974) to Taken by Force (1977), made them a cult band in Europe and Japan. Lovedrive in 1979, with Matthias Jabs, began their international run, and Animal Magnetism followed in 1980.
Blackout (1982) and Love at First Sting (1984), with Rock You Like a Hurricane and Still Loving You, made them stars in America. Crazy World in 1990 had Wind of Change, written after the band visited Moscow, which became the anthem of the end of the Cold War. Later albums include Face the Heat, Unbreakable, Sting in the Tail, the re-recordings on Comeblack, Return to Forever and Rock Believer in 2022.
Legacy & Influence
Scorpions showed that a band singing in English from Germany could fill American stadiums, and Wind of Change is one of the best-selling singles of all time in Germany.
