Biography
Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden and Ryan Dusick formed Kara's Flowers in Los Angeles in 1994 and released The Fourth World in 1997. After it failed, they added guitarist James Valentine, became Maroon 5 and signed with Octone Records.
Levine was a coach on The Voice in the US for sixteen seasons, which made the band household names.
History
Songs About Jane, released in 2002, grew slowly into a hit over two years with Harder to Breathe, This Love and She Will Be Loved. It Won't Be Soon Before Long in 2007 had Makes Me Wonder. Moves Like Jagger with Christina Aguilera, added to a reissue of Hands All Over in 2011, became one of the biggest songs of the year.
Overexposed in 2012 had One More Night and Payphone, V in 2014 had Maps, Animals and Sugar, and Red Pill Blues in 2017 had Girls Like You with Cardi B. JORDI in 2021 was named after their late manager Jordan Feldstein and included Memories. Love Is Like followed in 2025.

Maroon 5 moved from a guitar band to one of the most reliable hit machines in pop radio, and Girls Like You spent seven weeks at number one in the US.
