When a song is too fast to follow, the only fix on YouTube is the speed menu, and it resets as soon as the next video starts. Why It Works
Slowing a song down is how most people actually learn it. A pianist works through a fast run at half speed until the fingers know the way. Guitarists catch the notes in a solo that go by too quickly at full tempo. Dancers walk through a routine before they perform it at speed, and language learners slow a dialogue until every word is clear. History
Slowing music down to learn it is as old as recorded music. Jazz players in the 1930s and 40s famously played 78 rpm records at 33 or 45 to pick out a fast saxophone solo, and transcription machines and practice software kept the trick alive.
