Post Malone
Post Malone made genre irrelevant. He raps over guitar loops, sings over trap beats, croons country ballads, and somehow every single one sounds like a number-one hit. Nine Diamond-certified singles. The guy with face tattoos and Bud Light who accidentally became one of the biggest artists on Earth. Austin Post doesn't fit in a box because he doesn't believe boxes exist.

Biography
Austin Richard Post was born in Syracuse, New York, in 1995 and grew up in Grapevine, Texas. He learned guitar playing Guitar Hero, started making music in high school, and moved to Los Angeles at 18. He recorded White Iverson in his friend's closet studio.
It went viral on SoundCloud in February 2015 — a million plays in a month. Republic Records signed him before the year was out.
Stoney (2016) debuted at number four and just kept selling — it spent 77 weeks in the Billboard 200 top ten and was certified Diamond. Congratulations and I Fall Apart became generation-defining hits. Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018) opened with the biggest first week of the year: 461,000 units.
Rockstar spent eight weeks at number one. Psycho and Better Now followed.
Hollywood's Bleeding (2019) was the commercial peak — Circles spent three weeks at number one and 39 weeks in the top ten. Sunflower (from Spider-Verse) became his most streamed song. Then he pivoted: Twelve Carat Toothache (2022) was raw and personal, Austin (2023) leaned into rock and pop, and F-1 Trillion (2024) was a full country album featuring Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw, and Blake Shelton.
Nine Diamond singles. Over 80 billion streams. Still only 30 years old.
History
Stoney (December 2016) is where mainstream Post Malone begins. White Iverson — that lazy, melodic hook over a minimal beat — was already a hit before the album dropped. But it was I Fall Apart that became the sleeper anthem — a heartbreak song so raw it went from deep cut to Diamond single through pure word of mouth.
Congratulations with Quavo sealed the debut as a classic.
Beerbongs & Bentleys (April 2018) was dominance. Rockstar featuring 21 Savage was everywhere — eight weeks at number one, the defining song of 2018. Psycho opened with a cinematic sample and went straight to number two.
Better Now proved Post could write pop hooks that rival anyone. The album sold 461,000 first week and every track charted on the Hot 100.
Hollywood's Bleeding (September 2019) is the masterpiece. Circles — that melancholic guitar loop, the resigned vocal — is one of the most perfect pop songs of the decade. Sunflower with Swae Lee (from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) has over 2 billion Spotify streams.
Take What You Want with Ozzy Osbourne and Travis Scott proved he could do rock. Goodbyes with Young Thug kept the rap credibility. Every genre, every collaboration worked.
After the pop peak, Post went inward. Twelve Carat Toothache (2022) was shorter, darker, more honest — Lemon Tree, Wrapped Around Your Finger. Austin (2023) was named after his real name and leaned into guitar pop — Chemical, Mourning.
Then F-1 Trillion (2024) surprised everyone: a full country album. I Had Some Help with Morgan Wallen went to number one and spent 29 weeks in the top ten. The genre-hopping wasn't a phase — it was the whole point.
Legacy & Influence
Post Malone proved that genre gatekeeping is dead. He raps, he sings, he plays guitar, he does country — and the audience follows because the songs are good. Nine Diamond-certified singles put him in a club with very few members.
Circles, Rockstar, Sunflower, Congratulations, I Fall Apart — each one defined a different year.
His influence is in the permission he gave. After Post Malone, nobody blinks when a rapper releases a country album or a pop singer drops a trap song. He didn't invent genre-blending — but he made it mainstream on a scale nobody had achieved since Outkast.
The face tattoos, the Crocs, the Bud Light — the persona is deliberately anti-image in an image-obsessed industry. And yet he's one of the most streamed artists on the planet. Over 80 billion streams across platforms.
The kid who recorded White Iverson in a closet became one of the biggest acts of the 2020s. No genre. No limits.
Just songs.

Can I listen to Post Malone free on Mixtuby?
Yes — all six Post Malone studio albums are available free on Mixtuby with no account needed. 98 tracks from Stoney to F-1 Trillion, organised chronologically. Press play and it starts.
What is Post Malone's best album?
Hollywood's Bleeding (2019) is the consensus peak — Circles, Sunflower, Goodbyes, Take What You Want all in one album. Stoney (2016) has the cult classics — White Iverson, I Fall Apart, Congratulations. Beerbongs & Bentleys (2018) has the biggest hits — Rockstar, Psycho, Better Now. Start with Hollywood's Bleeding.
How many Diamond singles does Post Malone have?
Post Malone has nine Diamond-certified singles (10 million+ units each): Rockstar, Sunflower, Congratulations, Circles, I Fall Apart, Psycho, Better Now, White Iverson, and Goodbyes. That puts him among the most Diamond-certified artists in RIAA history.
What genre is Post Malone?
That's the question nobody can answer — and that's the point. Post Malone blends hip-hop, pop, rock, R&B, and country across his discography. Stoney is hip-hop, Beerbongs is pop-trap, Hollywood's Bleeding spans everything, and F-1 Trillion is full country. He's a genre-fluid artist in the truest sense.
Is Post Malone good for studying?
His mellower albums work well. Twelve Carat Toothache and Austin have low-key, guitar-driven tracks that serve as good background music. Circles on repeat is practically a focus timer. Avoid Beerbongs & Bentleys for studying — it's too energetic.
What is Sunflower from?
Sunflower (with Swae Lee) was recorded for the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018). It reached number one on the Hot 100 and has over 2 billion Spotify streams, making it one of the most streamed songs in history. It appears on Hollywood's Bleeding.
Did Post Malone really make a country album?
Yes — F-1 Trillion (2024) is a full country album featuring Morgan Wallen, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, Dolly Parton, and more. I Had Some Help with Morgan Wallen spent 29 weeks in the Billboard top ten. Post grew up in Texas playing guitar and has said country was always part of his musical DNA.
