Mini Rebus is a crossword you solve with music playing, coming soon to Mixtuby. It has 100 English puzzles in five stages, from small five-by-five warm-ups to twelve-by-twelve Legend grids. The clues are listed Across and Down like in a magazine, with the length of each answer; tap one to jump to it and type on your keyboard or the one docked under the grid on a phone. A wrong letter shows straight away, and a solved answer locks in with a little burst of confetti. Your progress stays on your device, so you pick up where you left off.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Open Mini Rebus

In Vibe Mode, tap Mini Rebus. Your next unsolved puzzle opens.

  2. 2

    Start the music

Lo-fi, piano, jazz or anything calm that is already playing.

  3. 3

    Pick a clue

Tap a square or a clue from the Across and Down lists. The numbers around the grid tell you exactly where an answer starts.

  4. 4

    Type the answer

On a computer just type; on a phone, use the keyboard under the grid.

  5. 5

    Finish the grid

Every answer locks in when it is right. Solve the grid and the next one comes.

Do Crosswords Keep Your Mind Sharp?

Crosswords are one of the most studied word games. In a 2022 trial led by Davangere Devanand at Columbia University, older adults with mild memory problems who did crossword puzzles online for 18 months held up slightly better on memory and thinking tests than a group who played other computer games. It was one study, with people who already had mild memory problems, so it says more about crosswords being a good habit than about preventing anything.

The part everyone can feel is simpler: a crossword pulls your attention into one small grid. With calm music under it, it is a break from screens that ask nothing of you, and a break from work that still asks something of your mind.

Play it because it is satisfying. The rest is a bonus.

Mini Crossword with Music — FAQ

When will Mini Rebus be available?

It is being finished now. Until it opens, the button on this page plays focus music.

How many puzzles are there?

100, in five stages. Warm-up has 20 five-by-five grids, Groove 25 at seven by seven, Deep 25 at nine by nine, Master 20 at eleven by eleven, and Legend 10 at twelve by twelve.

Is it in English?

Yes. Clues and answers are in English, short and everyday at the start, longer later.

How do I know if a letter is wrong?

It is tinted straight away. When a whole answer is right, it locks in with a little burst of confetti and can't be changed by accident.

Does it save my progress?

Yes, on your device. Close it and come back later; your next puzzle is waiting.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. A keyboard sits under the grid so the phone's own keyboard never covers the puzzle.
