Party Light Show

Open Party — Free

Party turns any screen into party lights. Pick a playlist, pick how wild you want it, tap Start, and the whole screen fills with fireworks, laser fans, confetti, comets and slow waves of colour while the music plays. Prop a phone against a glass, put a tablet on the shelf, or open it on a laptop plugged into the TV, and the room has a light show. Write a line like "Happy Birthday Sam!" and it shines in the middle of the screen. The effects are picked at random, not from the beat, and they settle into a soft glow when the music stops. Free, no account, nothing to install.

How It Works

  1. 1

    Open Party

Tap the button on this page. Mixtuby opens in Vibe Mode with Party ready.

  2. 2

    Pick the music

Party Mix, Pop Hits, Hip-Hop, Latin, Electronic or Rock Hits from Quick Playlists, or keep what is already playing.

  3. 3

    Pick a level

Chill for dinner, Party for the living room, Insane for dancing, Blitz to light up a dark room like a TV.

  4. 4

Add your words, if you like

Up to 60 characters, any size from 24 to 200 pixels, in one of eight colours or rainbow. Leave it empty for lights only.

  5. 5

Tap Start and put the screen where people can see it

The show runs full screen. Pause or change the level from the gear without leaving the party; Stop takes you back.

What You See on the Screen

Fireworks, fountains and confetti

All the time

Bursts of colour go off one after another, from a vivid palette of reds, golds, greens, blues, purples and pinks.

Lasers, comets and swirls

In between

Laser beams and laser fans sweep across, comets streak over, swirls spin out of the middle. Every few moments something new.

Waves of colour

Now and then

The whole screen washes over in one colour, at most three times a second, so it never turns into a fast strobe.

Your words in the spotlight

If you wrote some

Your line glows in the middle of the screen, and from time to time a spotlight of sparks picks it out.

A soft glow when the music stops

On pause

Party checks every second whether the track is still moving. Paused, the effects stop and only a faint glow stays until the music comes back.

Why the Lights Never Strobe Fast

Some people with epilepsy are sensitive to flashing light; the Epilepsy Foundation puts it at about 3 in 100 people with epilepsy, and fast flashing of large bright areas is the usual trigger. Web accessibility guidelines (WCAG) set the line at three flashes per second. Party stays under it: a full-screen colour wash can come at most three times a second, and Blitz, the brightest level, lights the room by turning slowly through the colours instead of switching on and off.

That makes the show gentler, not risk-free. If anyone in the room is sensitive to light, keep to Chill or skip the lights and just play the music.

One more honest note: the lights do not listen to the song. A browser is not allowed to read the sound of a YouTube video, so Party picks its effects at random and only checks whether the music is moving. It looks like it follows the music because there is always something new on screen.

Real Moments to Use It

A birthday at home

Write the name, choose rainbow, put the tablet on the shelf behind the cake.

Party · Party Mix

Kids dancing in the living room

Curtains closed, lights off, phone against the TV stand. Ten minutes of freeze dance with colours everywhere.

Insane · Pop Hits

Friends over on a Friday

The laptop is on the TV anyway. Let it light the room instead of showing a frozen playlist.

Blitz · Electronic

Dinner that turns into dancing

Start on Chill while people eat, move up a level when the plates are gone.

Chill → Party · Latin

A surprise message

Hold up the phone with "Will you go to prom with me?" glowing over the fireworks.

Party · your words

A small room with no party lights

A hotel room, a dorm, a rented flat. The screen you already have is the light show.

Party · Hip-Hop

Lights down, phone up, music on

No app, no account, no lights to buy. The music keeps playing under the show.

Party Light Show — FAQ

Do the lights follow the beat?

No. A browser cannot read the sound of a YouTube video, so the effects are picked at random. Party does notice when the music stops and calms down to a soft glow.

Is it safe for people sensitive to flashing lights?

Full-screen flashes are limited to three a second, the line web accessibility guidelines use, and the brightest level changes colour smoothly instead of flashing. That lowers the risk but does not remove it. If someone is sensitive, use Chill or just play the music.

Can I put my own text on the screen?

Yes. Up to 60 characters, sized from 24 to 200 pixels, in eight colours or rainbow.

Can I show it on a TV?

Open Mixtuby in the browser of a laptop connected to the TV and start Party there. On a phone or tablet, lean it where people can see it.

Does the music keep playing?

Yes. The show runs over the music, and the gear lets you pause the track or hide the mini player without leaving the show.

Is it free? Does it collect anything?

Free, no account. Your level, text and colours are remembered in this browser, and if you are signed in they sync with your other Mixtuby settings.
