Quit Smoking Craving Help
Quit Smoking is a companion for the first weeks without cigarettes, coming soon to Mixtuby. Its main screen is a ring that counts how long you have been smoke-free, the money you have not spent, and one big button, "I have a craving". Press it and it walks you through the minutes when a craving is strongest. Two minutes of slow 4-7-8 breathing, then a glass of water, then moving your body, then a little monster to tap away. At each step you choose "It passed" or "Still craving". It is not a medical treatment; it is something to do with your hands and your breath until the urge goes.
How It Works
-
1
Open Quit Smoking
In Vibe Mode, tap Quit Smoking. The first time, enter how many cigarettes a day you smoked and what a pack costs, then tap "Start — I quit now".
-
2
Press "I have a craving"
Two minutes of 4-7-8 breathing on screen. In for 4, hold for 7, out for 8.
-
3
Keep going if it hasn't passed
Still craving? Water, then moving, then the monster. Tap "It passed" whenever it does, and the urge you rode out is counted.
-
4
Or tell it how you feel
Irritable, can't focus, restless, tearful, upset stomach or bad nights. Each gets a short explanation and the step that fits.
-
5
Watch the streak grow
The ring fills towards the next milestone, and the money saved keeps adding up.

Why Riding Out a Craving Works
Public-health services such as the CDC and the NHS say the same reassuring thing about cravings: they are strong, but they are short, usually passing within a few minutes, and they come less often the longer you stay smoke-free. The idea behind "urge surfing", studied by psychologists Sarah Bowen and Alan Marlatt, is to notice the craving, stay with it and let it pass instead of fighting or obeying it. The SOS is built around that: something to do with your breath and your hands for exactly those minutes.
Slow breathing with a long out-breath, like 4-7-8, is a simple way to calm the body down. It is not proven to help people quit on its own, and we don't say it is.
What is proven to raise your chances is real support. Talking to a doctor or pharmacist about nicotine replacement or medicines, and calling a free quitline (1-800-QUIT-NOW in the US, or your country's national service), help more people stop for good than willpower alone. Use this tool alongside them, not instead.

Quit Smoking Craving Help — FAQ
When will Quit Smoking be available?
It is being finished now. Until it opens, the button on this page plays calm music.
Will this app make me quit?
No app can do that for you. It helps you through cravings and shows your progress. Nicotine replacement, medicines from a doctor and a quitline raise your chances the most; use this alongside them.
What happens when I press "I have a craving"?
Two minutes of 4-7-8 breathing first. If the craving is still there, it moves on to water, then moving your body, then a monster to tap away, which fades on its own after about three minutes.
How is the money saved worked out?
From the cigarettes a day and the pack price you enter, counted from the moment you quit. You can change both later without resetting your streak.
What if I slip?
You can reset the streak from the Progress menu and start again. A slip is common and does not undo what you learned.
Is my information stored anywhere?
Your streak, money and cravings stay in this browser. If you turn on the daily check-in, we keep only what is needed to send that notification.
